A quarterly, category-by-category read on which Australian businesses AI assistants actually name when a buyer asks for a recommendation. Free to read, never gated, with the method published in full.
First release: Q4 2026
The TOP 100 measures Australian service businesses at category level, which is the layer the global AI visibility indexes don't cover. They rank enterprise brands by country. We're interested in who AI recommends for commercial cleaning in Sydney, or personal injury law in Brisbane, because that's the question your buyers are actually asking.
What gets published
One page per category, each built around the question a buyer would ask, with the businesses AI named, the TOP Score for each, the number of prompts and responses behind the measurement, and the date it was taken. Every figure links back to the method so you can check how it was arrived at.
How does a business get on the list?
By being named in the answers. That's the only way. You can't submit, apply, sponsor or ask, and there is no version of this where money changes the number, because the moment there is, the whole thing is worthless to everybody including us.
The conflict, stated plainly
Top of Prompt is run by Sydney Digital Marketing, an agency that sells programs to improve these scores. That's a real conflict of interest and we're not going to pretend otherwise. Two rules deal with it: every SDM client that appears in the TOP 100 is marked as one, and no commercial relationship, existing or hoped for, is allowed to touch a score. What this is not
- ×Not a quality ranking. A business can be excellent and invisible to AI. The list measures what the assistants say, not who's good at their job.
- ×Not an award. Nobody wins anything, there's no trophy and there's no fee. It's a measurement with a date on it.
- ×Not a snapshot of quality over time. Scores move when models change, so a business dropping between quarters has not necessarily done anything wrong.
Right of reply
If your business appears and you think the measurement is wrong, tell us and we'll re-run it against the same prompt set. If the re-run disagrees with what we published, we correct the page and note the correction on it. If you'd rather not be measured at all, we'll take you out of the published list on request, though we'll note that the category has an exclusion in it so the count still adds up.
The first release
The first TOP 100 covers a set of Australian service categories and lands in the fourth quarter of 2026. If you want it when it publishes, a free Namecheck puts you on the list for it, and gets you your own score in the meantime.
